Shock, Awe and Survival. . . Letters from School

school health service- licetreatmentcenter

Hi there! I'm Hillary, your go-to mom for info, and maybe a little entertainment, here at Lice Treatment Center. As a mother of three darlings, ages 8, 7 and 3, I have been privy to "the letter". Yes, a month ago I got the dreaded letter that accompanied my daughter home, lurking in her backpack, until it could launch every feeling of dread and hopelessness I had in reserve.

It was that letter informing me that one of my child's classmates has head lice. Ugh, head lice. I'm starting to itch just thinking about those critters. I was lucky, to date, I haven't gotten "the call" from the school nurse about my own children. So now I'm being vigilant, doing the daily head checks and using our effective Leave-In Tonic to repel lice. Good times.

So far, so good. Now I'm not so nervous. Plus, my 3 year old thinks he is getting royal treatment when I spray his head. It's a win-win. Hey, I’ll take a small victory wherever I can get it.

Enough about me. What about YOU?

Did you already get the call from school nurse? If your family is currently "under attack" and you're panicked, just know two very important things:

  1. You're not alone (there are up to 12 MILLION cases of head lice in the U.S. each year).
  2. You ARE going to get through this; there IS an end to it. You and your family will survive, I PROMISE.

Or perhaps you are getting your children ready for a summer filled with fun, camp, sleepovers and such and wondering about how to stay ahead of it all. I have a few ideas, but a good way to start is to go get a head check . . . give us a call to see if we're doing FREE ones near you.

Either way, we here at LTC know what it’s like to be a parent, we have a ton of our own.  We are here to help make a not-so-fun (to say the least) experiences better for you and your family. We are here for you 24/7. You can call us, anytime, at 888-LICE-AWAY (888-542-3292).

Now take a deep breath . . .

Here’s to a clear-headed tomorrow,
